Terms of Use

Psychological Services

In order to provide our psychological services, it is essential to collect and record your personal information. This information is a crucial component of our assessment, diagnosis, and treatment processes. It allows your psychologist to deliver a psychological service that is both pertinent and well-informed.

Confidentiality

All personal information collected by the psychologist during the psychological service will remain confidential and secure, except in the following situations:

1. If the information is subpoenaed by a court.

2. If not disclosing the information would place you or another person at serious and immediate risk.

At times, as part of the assessment and therapy process, it may be beneficial for your psychologist to communicate with other individuals or agencies relevant to your goals. In such cases, additional consent forms will be required.

Please be aware that if you plan to claim rebates from Medicare or another organization, your psychologist is required to provide summary reports to external agencies about your treatment progress. Under the Medicare scheme, these reports are usually sent to your GP or psychiatrist. Your written consent will be sought to allow the sharing of these Medicare reports with the referring clinician.

Policy for First Appointments

1. PREPAYMENT IS REQUIRED FOR NEW CLIENTS BOOKING THEIR FIRST APPOINTMENT

First session and initial appointments necessitate a prepayment to secure the reservation. This prepayment is non-refundable and non-transferable. However, cancellations or rescheduling are permitted in line with our cancellation policy, and we will issue a credit for rescheduling your appointment, provided you give at least 24 hours' notice.

2. OUR REFUND POLICY

Our prepaid services are non-refundable; however, you can reschedule your appointment to another date and time (must be done with at least 24 hours' notice) by contacting us by email at contact@remediumpsychology.com.

Refunds may be offered under extenuating circumstances; however, this will be at the discretion of the practitioner.

Cancellation Policy

While predicting the need to cancel or reschedule a session can be challenging, we kindly request at least 24 hours' notice. Given the high demand for appointments, your timely cancellation allows us to offer the slot to someone in urgent need of support.

Should you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, or fail to attend without any notice, a full fee charge (100%) will be incurred. These fees are not reimbursable through private health insurance or Medicare.

Our cancellation policy is designed to ensure equitable and fair access to our services for all clients.

Not showing up for an appointment without sufficient notice deprives another client of the opportunity to use that time.

We recognize that unforeseen events can occur, and in cases of emergency or exceptional circumstances, we will act swiftly and justly, provided you notify us as soon as possible.

Our cancellation policy is clearly stated on our website for your convenience.

Please be aware that our software records when this information is sent and acknowledged.

We do not condone verbal abuse or threats regarding our cancellation policy, and such behavior may lead to the termination of services or reporting of the incident.

How to Cancel:

Please note we will not accept cancellations via SMS.

Conditions of Cancellation Policy

If a cancellation fee has been charged, it must be paid prior to the provision of any further services.

Repeat Cancellations

Clients who miss three consecutive confirmed appointments will have their slot reassigned to someone on the waitlist. To resume treatment, they must pay a non-refundable deposit equal to the full cost of a therapy session. This deposit will be forfeited if they miss or cancel any future appointments. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in their slot being given to another client or a reduction in their therapy sessions.

Late to Appointments

Sessions are strictly 50 minutes and will not be extended beyond the hour due to late arrivals. Full fees are charged in cases of late arrival.

To ensure the highest standard and quality of care for our clients, punctuality for appointments is expected.

a) Clients will receive reminder messages via text and/or email before their appointment.

b) If a client is late, the Service Provider will wait for ten minutes before considering the appointment forfeited, and the cancellation policy will apply (i.e., the full fee is charged if less than 24 hours' notice is given before the session, or if the client is a no-show).

c) Should the client arrive within the first ten minutes of their appointment, the session will be reduced by the time they were late. Full fees are charged.

d) The Service Provider may decide, at their discretion, to wait longer than ten minutes from the start of the appointment and whether to conduct the full session. Full fees are charged.

The client agrees to indemnify and hold The Service Provider and all associated Service Providers harmless against any claims, losses, damages, injuries, objections, or litigation resulting from cancellations as per these Terms & Conditions.

Session Length & Fees/Payments

Each session lasts 50 minutes. The cost for therapy sessions will be established and agreed upon prior to the start of treatment. Fees for in-person sessions are due at the session's conclusion. Payments can be processed via EFTPOS or direct deposit.

Our fee schedule is available on our website. Full payment for each session is required at its conclusion. A receipt will be issued to you, which may be used for claims with your private health insurance or Medicare, provided you have a referral under a mental health care plan. Rebates from your Health Fund will depend on your individual coverage.
